High development of domiciliation of securitisation vehicles in Luxembourg
Luxembourg, the largest securitisation domicile in Europe
During the last years, the European securitisation market has been significantly affected by the financial crisis and current macroeconomic volatility and still suffers to be associated to the image of the 2008 crash, after the fact that subprimes were linked to the reckless practices in the US mortage market.
The result is that governments progressively installed more supervision and control processes, allowing to increase simplicity, quality and transparency of securitisation vehicles.
