The AIFM directive has been defined to bring more supervision to the alternative investment fund industry (hedge funds and private equity funds) after the 2008 financial industry crisis.

With the transposition of the AIFM directive, Luxembourg also modernizes the Limited Partnership regime and introduces a range of highly competitive tax advantages for executives to relocate to Luxembourg.
